WOW, thanks for detailing the Hits and Misses of the Snow White film. This film has had so much controversy but all I've really wanted to know is if it is archetypal relevant! I haven't seen it yet, but still want to watch it to compare notes. Thanks also for the diagram that lists the heroine's stages so clearly. Excited to use this tool in future fairy tale exploration.

Thanks so much, Cyndera! I was hoping you'd be able to read the Woven May newsletter and I'm thrilled you did, since you do understand the Snow White review so much better than most. I read a review yesterday claiming that this Snow White has destroyed the Disney brand! Goes to show: you can't mess with archetypes.

A student who'd taken my Heroine's Journey class twice, in person (MI) and online, helped to create the graphic in just a few hours based on her understanding and my edits. I think it works for now, but let me know if you'd make changes as you use it. :)

I'm still deep in the writing process with my Substack book, this week at the darkest point of the heroine's journey, retelling the ancient myth of the Sumerian goddess Inanna and her descent to that primal Underworld. Wild stuff!! It'll be uphill from there.

MORE in an email to you after Substack went down for a bit

Kate, as long as I can remember, I've been in love with fairy tales and myths. Then I was introduced to Joseph Campbell's The Power of Myth--and Wow!

You are doing excellent work here. :-D

Marian, thank you so much! It's been a joy to research and teach the fairy tale heroine's journey and I'm happy to meet a fellow traveler. :)
